After winning the 2025 Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles celebrated their victory with a parade in their home city on February 14, 2025. The victory parade officially started at 11 AM, with throngs of Eagles fans gathering in the streets of downtown Philadelphia as early as 7 AM.[1]
Eagles players and staff, including MVP quarterback Jalen Hurts and Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman, joined around 1 million fans in an open-air bus parade through the city.[2]
During the parade, Roseman was hit in the head by a flying beer can, causing him to bleed and leaving a red semi-circular mark on his forehead.[3]
However, Roseman’s head injury didn’t stop him from participating in the rest of the victory parade. While speaking at the parade’s closing ceremony at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Roseman addressed his head injury by exclaiming, “I bleed for this city, go Eagles!” and hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.[4]
On February 15, 2025, Roseman’s newly formed company, Bleeding Bird LLC, filed a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for “I bleed for this city.” to prevent potential infringing uses of the phrase.[5] Roseman and his team plan to use the trademark to create a clothing line around the phrase “I bleed for this city.” to cash in on the viral moment.[6]
